About Roland Wenzlofsky

Roland Wenzlofsky is the founder of DWHPro and its lead architect for Teradata, Snowflake, Databricks and general data platform architecture. He has spent more than 25 years working on enterprise data engineering and data platform architecture, most of it inside large banking and telecommunications environments where analytical systems carry regulatory deadlines rather than best-effort ones.

Where the experience comes from

  • Enterprise data warehousing. Large-scale data warehouse architecture in banking and telecom, including regulatory compliance reporting (FATCA, CRS) and cross-border delivery for European and US authorities.
  • Teradata performance tuning. Two decades of production work on query performance, physical design, statistics, workload management and the operational behaviour of mature Teradata systems.
  • Snowflake at engine level. Snowflake expertise built at Gluent, a Google Cloud Partner, working on a universal query platform bridging Teradata and Snowflake.
  • Migration and modernization. Teradata-to-cloud migration and modernization work, with an emphasis on which requirements a target architecture still has to satisfy.

The book

Roland is the author of Teradata Query Performance Tuning – The DWHPro Guide, a practical reference on how Teradata query performance is actually diagnosed and improved.

Writing

He has published more than 300 technical articles on DWHPro covering Teradata internals, SQL tuning, data warehouse architecture, and migration to Snowflake and Databricks. The complete archive is in Insights.
